Partitioning...

I feel a bit guilty posting so soon again... however, I could neither find information I could understand, or the willingness to potentially ruin information on the Windows section...

Basically, cfdisk is giving me this:

hda1 Primary Dell Utility 57.58 MB
hda2 Boot Primary NTFS [^F] 59945.85 MB
Pri/Log Free Space 8.23 MB

I am assuming I should only touch Free Space, for fear of deleting files on the other partitions, yet, how do I safely resize NTFS?

use a decent defrag/optimizing tool* in windoze to put all the data at one end of the partition, and then use ntfsresize to shrink the ntfs partition. or you can aquire partition magic and resize the windows partition directly from win.

* the builtin tool is not very decent, especially if you have many large files and/or considerable fragmentation

The latest ntfsresize versions don't need defragmentation because they have an on-the-fly built-in defragmenter without limitations :-) http://mlf.linux.rulez.org/mlf/ezaz/...tml#fragmented
