not all packages showing up in slack install

I'm a newbie trying to install slackware onto an older computer of mine. I got all the way through partitioning and into the setup and when I try to install the packages, the only option I am getting is to install the base linux system. The slackware webpage book shows lots of options available. I select base linux system and it asks me for the next slackware disk. I supply it with install-d2 and it just ejects it back at me. I ran the MD5 checksum on the install-d2 image file (and the install-d1 for that matter) that I am trying to use and it verified ok. If I tell it to quit installing packages and finish up, then all I'm left with is the base linux system, right? I tried to burn another copy of the install-d2 image and got the same results. Also, I am trying to install version 9.1 if that is important. Thanks for your help.

The second disk is mainly Gnome apps and such. Your not totally left with just a base install but rather left without Gnome if you don't install most of the apps from the second disk. What kind of install are you doing? Newbie Full or custom, etc?

Slack 9.1 install

I installed the first CD of the install and it works ok. Some of the window managers crash but most are fine. How do I choose installation of gnome on the second CD? All I know to do is use PKGTOOL and install each individual component from the CD. How can I just choose the packages and let the computer install? Thanks. Please help out.

George

P.S: I have posted about 4 messages now concerning Linux and I never get replies. Am I doing something wrong?

have you browsed thru the CD's??? both of them.
on the 1st CD is a directory called Slackware, inside of this should be various directories with alphabetic names.....a, ap, d, e, f, k, l, n, etc.........
are these directories on there???
if so, how many are there and what are the names??

the 2nd CD should also have a directory called Slackware but inside this
should be.......KDE and Gnome

Slack install gnome and disk set d

Sure, all the names are there. I was inpatient with my install, 'cause I wanted to see if my sound would work, so I did not pick disk set d for developing. Also I did not install anything from CD 2. Now I would like to know how to install the stuff I skipped. I want to select the disk sets and let Slack do the work; ... instead of selecting each individual component by using pkgtool - I am not even sure if that works anyway... Thanks.
