Music cd's will only open in k3b on slackware-current install

Hi,

I installed slackware-current, iso dated Aug 4 2009. The install went well and all seems to work ok except for playing music cd's. When I put the cd in and go to Devices Recently Plugged In, it shows as a music cd but the only option it give me is to Extract digital audio with k3b.

I tried to configure it in System Settings/Advanced/File Associations but that did not help. Under audio there was no type cda, which is the file type, so I added it, added it to filename patters as *.cda and in Application Preference Order I added Amarok and Xmms.

I rebooted, ran slackpkg upgrades, tried as root and regular user, it always comes up the same. mp3's will play fine, data cd/dvd's will open fine with dolphin.

Computer is a Thinkpad t41p, It was working fine with 12.2 and I upgraded to current with slackpkg and then this happened, so i tried a fresh install, using the most recent iso image but it will still not open the music cd's.

thanks
john
