Mouse and keyboard not working

Hi
I am total newbie in linux
I can't get my usbmouse and keyboard to work....
I have installed gnome, and I can start it, but I can't do anything....
I ran xorgconfig but it still doesn't work.
It is running on a medion md5400 laptop. (my touchpad doesn't either work!)
Could anyone be kind and tell me my problem?
I might need to activate some kind of usb or somthing... but how?

Regards Christian

Hey cgo,

First of all, are you running a stock slack Kernel (bare.i)? Secondly, post your xorg.conf file (/etc/X11/xorg.conf) so we can take a look at it.

Cheers,
Bruce
