Manual installation?

Is there a way to install slackware manually?
I tried to make an nfs install on mandrake and slackware: mandrake crashes at "random" times (depending on the packages i choose) during install, slackware crashes always at the same time during install.

I'm completely desperate, i even made a memory check, hoping one of the chips is fried but its all fine..
Since slackware caused me less trouble than mandrake, i would like to try to manually do the install program's job. Anyone knows how to?

Thanks!

Your problem is probably a hardware problem (overheating CPU), or else faulty ISO images.

Gentoo is easy to install and very transparent, and you perform the steps manually, there is no install GUI. Just an idea for you to consider.

What memory check did you use? If you used a weak one sometimes it won't find problems which are really there. Although I am hesitant to use MS products, they do make an excellent memory diagnostic which runs off a floppy (dos level)
Here is the web page:
http://oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp

and here is the d/load directly:

http://oca.microsoft.com/en/mtinst.exe

Try that. If you have any memory problems this will more then likely find them. And let it run for about and hour or so... (or more preferably...)

Hope this helps some.
