Post Linux 12.1 new install


Built new computer purchased Linux Slackware 12.1, Hard drive has been zeroed out. How do i partition the hard drive to start installing the 6 disks? HELP Thanks

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1FZhclGZp8g watch it on you tube other wise put the disk in and push enter 4 times type cfdisk partion the drives quit then type setup and click add swap partition the rest will walk you through.

Two invaluable resources for the novice Slackware user:

Slackware Book, chapter "partitioning" uses fdisk in the example.
Slackware Basics, chapter partitioning uses cfdisk in the example.

The cfdisk program is friendlier to the inexperienced user because it is GUI based (ncurses, i.e. a "text-based gui") whereas fdisk is a spartan, commandline tool, more suited to the experienced Linux user.

Everthing went fine up to Black Screen which said [B]OPEN DISK READ ONLY YOU HAVE NO PERMISSION TO WRITE[B]
Hard Drive Maxtor 250 GB, CPU Pentium D 2.80 GHZ,Memory 1024 MB Mother Board Intel DG 31 PR I would appreciate any more suggestions Thanks Zuzaxc!
