Make sure your keyboard connection is secured, if so try another keyboard.

Same problem, but at my notebook.

Hello, I'm having the same problem but i'm using a Presario 2100 notebook. And the keyboard is working properly (i'm typing right now) but at boot when he ask if the keyboard is US or NON-US the keyboard do not answer, and it stop responding (even the Caps Lock is Locked [off])
What i'm supposed to do to fix this? The Key board is US style.
Thanks
Maion

re:keyboard lost after first reboot

Hi
I had the same problem. After reinstalling 3 or 4 times with the same result I took a different approach.
This computer duel boots with ubuntu, so I logged into that and opened Slackwares /etc/inittab file and changed the run level from 3 to 4. Then tried rebooting into Slackware but with the same result, no keyboard or mouse!!
Then I realised that I'm using a usb mouse, so I changed that for a ps/2 mouse and rebooted.... and here I am!
Everythings working.
So I guess its the usb mouse that Slack doesn't like.
I don't know what the answer is yet but at least there is a way around the problem.

I have just fixed it,
go to the BIOS, and set Legacy USB --> Disabled.
Thatīs all!
Worked for me!!
Thanks
