Kernel upgrade errors...

I am recieving errors on boot after an upgrade of the kernel from version 2.4 to 2.6.

The errors I get are in the following modules:
agpgart
ide_scsi
alsa
snd_pcm_oss
snd_mixer_oss

I have ran searches on these modules and they do appear under the 2.4.10 folder but not for 2.6.10. I have tried to use modprobe to locate them with no success. If anyone has a good method of updating these without re-compiling the kernel please let me know.

Thanks.

Usually when you upgrade a kernel, you will need to re-install any modules that you had to install before. (alsa, oss video drivers maybe?).

I think the new kernel may support ATAPI cd burning and you may not need the ide_scsi module loaded. Check your module loading config file.

Any insight as to what that module loading config file would be? I have been looking for it to no avail. Also could you maybe point out a utility that would assist me in disabling these modules or would simply copying the old modules into the new kernel directory work?

Thanks again,
