Installing with Loadlin problems

I am tring to install Linux on a Fujitsu Point 1600 Tablet that has no floppy and no CD-rom. It has win98 on it and i have a jump drive that i can move files on to the tablet with thru windows. I am having some touble getting things going.

What i have done so far is; Used Loading with a bzimage from slackware for lowmem, in conjunction with a initrd.img also from slackware. the kernal loads but then stops and states

"kernal panic unable to mount root fs on 1:00" <-- this is a paraphras

This is where i am stuck. I have no idea what it is tring to say and i need some guideance.

Thanks.

Don't use an initrd, just mount root.
For a cool way to start your system try Amigo Linux, Slack compatible with X.
