Installing slackware 12 on Toshiba notebook locks up on boot up

Hi Guys,

Just installed sw12 on a toshiba s2 notebook it hangs on boot up at
ACPI: PCI interrupt 000:06:04.3[B] -> GSI 17 (level, low -> IRQ 18

Any ideas?

I thought it was the wireless card so I removed it no joy

Did you try the pci=noacpi boot option? That's just a shameless attempt at a quick fix and considering the fact that I've never known the lack of that option to cause a kernel panic it probably won't get the job done. I would boot to the Slack install disk and install a different kernel (NOTE: This does NOT require reinstalling the entire OS). Inside of setup, choose your boot media, choose your installation partition (do NOT format) and then run through the configure options. A good place to start is always whatever kernel the boot disk uses as it was obviously able to boot, so it should be good. Any other info you can glean from the boot process (those messages scroll fast but they are there for a reason) will help you figure out the root cause of the issue. Good Luck!!
