Question Installation without floppies or CDs using Grub / LILO

I have a computer with a brand new hard drive, a DVD drive, a copy of Knoppix, and I'm out of floppy disks. Is there any way to install grub or lilo on my hard drive to boot off of the hard drive?

I already read through the FAQ and it says that I can create a partition for the ISOs which I can then mount as loopback. I did that.

But I can't understand where to go from there. There are 3 images for disks -- the /kernels and the directory of /installation (that second one might notbe right).

So do I just need to put the kernel in a directory and install grub/lilo? Or do I have to do something more complx, i.e. install the installation disks?

Thanks in advance,

Dan

look for the Knopper.net website, there is a link to the forum and look under Anwendungen Date 25.12.2003
for virtual CD s DVD s and there is also a script for doing it under shell. But Installation under these circumstances would be complex, if possible.

Thanks for your help. I ended up getting a friend to burn me a copy and I must say, I don't think I'm ever going back to Red Hat or Mandrake!
