I want to install a fully encrypted Slackware installation :P
The title says it all, i want to install a Slackware 14.0, in the README_ENCRYPTION.txt it says it is recommended to use a combination of LVM+crypsetup+LUKS but i went to the slackware channel on IRC and there many people said I don't really need LVM to do it...is there any other way i can do this without the system asking me for a password for every encrypted partition?

Why do you believe the people on IRC instead of following README_CRYPT.TXT? Try to think for yourself... using LVM you can suffice with one password and have a really fully encrypted system including encrypted swap (which is a benefit if you hibernate your laptop).
But even without LVM, you can store the passwords for other partitions than the root in /etc/crypttab (again see README_CRYPT.TXT) so that you only have to enter one password on boot. Eric |
well i already did the fully encrypted installation, everything is working just fine...
