I made the move from mandrake to slack...but one problem...

Install went flawless...I thought it would be harder. It was a breeze but, internet isnt configured. The way I connect is username and pasword on dsl. At the install I chose DHCP obviously its not working since it didn't ask me if I had a username and password.

So what option should I choose on netconfig? Or is there some other way?

And since im making this topic, is dropline Gnome faster than KDE?

or is dropline still the same ressource hog with a few extras.?

thanks

what kind of connection do you have? dsl? or cable? if it's cable you may not have to provide a uname and passwd. if dsl, then just use rpppoe (roaring penguin)

If you're using a router then the router should be taking care of connecting to your isp with your user and pass, and then you just connect to your router with dhcp.

Since you just said your trying to connect with a user name and password with a dsl connection i would guess you need to enter user name and password with a connection program. i don't remember the name but i would guess you will need to have it auto start on bootup. there must be a network connection software on slackware that let you enter a user name and password then hit connect. like in windows.
