How to verify the signature of the slack ISO images (or any other file for that matte
Hi:
I've just downloaded the ISO images for Slackware 14.0. Also the file with filename extension .asc. In the past I've spent a week reading the gpg manual and trying to understand how to use it. Now I would like to skip this step (I have quite forgotten) and ask some kind LQ user for a one-liner to do the job (that is, to authenticate the origin of the image file). |
Well, first make sure you gave the slackware gpg key imported, it can be found on the mirrors, or you can import it directly from the gpg key servers.
Then you run: Code:
gpg --verify slackware-14.0.iso.asc |
Thanks, Tex, I now remember! It's a very, very complicated procedure. I recall I was two days working on it. Things are never easier, they always become more difficult, as speaking on the phone, for example.
