eth0 is not avilable after installing slackware14.2 or slackware15 as KVM guest
Hi folks,
I was trying to install Slackware14.2/Slackware15 64bit as KVM guest but I got the same problem was that I could not see eth0 to be available after installation. KVM host: CentOS 7 Slackware as KVM guest: - Network source: Virtual network 'default': NAT - Device model: rtl8139 I only see "lo" in the folder /sys/class/net Could you please recommend some hints? Thank you in advance, Huan Phan |
OK.
My understanding is that the host grabs all peripherals unless told explicitly not to do so. You have to ensure the driver/firmware for your nic are not loaded by the host. Then when the guest boots up, it sees an unitialised nic, and initialises it in the guest, not the host. I'm not hot on VMs, so good luck with that. |

Thank you for your help. Here is what I have done to make it worked: In "Virtual Network Interface", I set as below: Network Source: Virtual network 'default': NAT Device model: virtio Best regards, Huan Phan |
