Establishing Printer, User, Gnome

I have successfully installed a working Slackware 10.1 operating system. When I boot, I am left at the darkstar login prompt. I can login as 'root' just fine.

1) Does the boot process leave an install.log file somewhere that I might examine all the messages that flew by until I got to the darkstar login prompt? If so, where does that file reside?

2) How do I establish a printer such that I can print out that log file or anything else? (I did include CUPS in the install process.)

3) How do I establish a user?

4) How do I invoke Gnome and configure it for my display monitor?

1) try "dmesg | more"

3) "adduser"

4) "startx" to load up gnome and look in "/etc/X11/xorg/conf" to configure your monitor.
