Mounting a floppy will depend a bit upon your distribution -- "/mount /floppy" or "mount /mnt/floppy" or something -- the mount point directory may differ. It can be found out by doing

cat /etc/fstab | grep fd
After that, copy the file to the floppy using "cp error.log /mnt/floppy" (or similar). Don't forget to do "umount /mnt/floppy" before removing the floppy disc from the drive though.
