error with startx (2)

A log file has been generated when the startx command output an error (and contains hundrents of lines). How can I copy it in a floppy and read it (or print it or send it by email)?
Remember that I can't use Windowing Environment right now.
One thought I had was to mount the floppy and copy it to a floppy-disc and access it from another operating system.

How can I mount the floppy. Is there any better solution?

you can save the whole bunch to the file "error.log"
Mounting a floppy will depend a bit upon your distribution -- "/mount /floppy" or "mount /mnt/floppy" or something -- the mount point directory may differ. It can be found out by doing

cat /etc/fstab | grep fd

After that, copy the file to the floppy using "cp error.log /mnt/floppy" (or similar). Don't forget to do "umount /mnt/floppy" before removing the floppy disc from the drive though.
