Enable Dual CPU

hi

i've got a little problem
how do i enable dual cpu support in slackware?
I have recompiled the kernel to support SMP
but slackware still only finds one cpu

What am i missing?

changed to kernel to 2.6.2 and now it works fine

i've got an Dell Precision 210 System with Intel 440BX AGPset chipset
with dual P2 400 Mhz

i think the problem spawns from using the Bare.i kernel (but i am just guessing), because there was another post in the forum with the same problem. When i changed kernel to 2.6.2 there was no problem with finding the other CPU
