Can't find unpartitioned space?

Hey guys, I'm new to this forum and to slackware. I've been trying to install it on my Dell Latitude D630 as part of a multiboot, but it's not finding the unpartioned space I've left for it with windows manager. I'm wondering if if it can't see the hard drive at all. Has anyone else encountered this problem before?

Welcome to LQ!!

You can find out what your partition setup is by booting from just about any Live CD version of Linux: Open a terminal, and enter "fdisk -l" (ell, not one)

BUT: I would advise anyone starting out to get the GParted bootable CD. This tool does re-sizing of NTFS partitions as well as all of the normal partitioning tasks.

Thanks so much, I finally got it all loaded by using GParted but cfdisk still couldn't see it. I used fdisk though, and was able to set it all up.

The next problem I'm having is with setting up the wireless internet. I've been doing a lot of reading about needing the windows drivers? I found a link for something I think I need
(1) http://slackbuilds.org/repository/13.../b43-fwcutter/
(2) http://slackbuilds.org/repository/13.../b43-firmware/
(3) http://slackbuilds.org/repository/13.../broadcom-sta/

But I'm not sure how to run these scripts in the terminal correctly... Are these what I need? I have a Broadcomm wireless device.

Search here and on Google using "broadcom linux".

Start a new thread with specific questions on what you find (the title of this thread is not going to attract the wireless gurus)
