Any Problems Upgrading Slackware 11.0 to 12.1 and Skipping 12.0?

Hey all,

I currently have Slackware 11.0 installed and am looking at upgrading to Slackware 12.1 and just skip 12.0 altogether. Should an upgrade work or do I need to install from scratch? Any caveats I should be aware of (besides backing up my machine just in case)?

You don't skip versions when upgrading.

Note that upgrading from a Slackware version earlier than 12.0 is NOT supported at all and will almost certainly lead to breakage.

For upgrading from 12.0 to 12.1 you should see my HowTo: Upgrade Slackware 12.0 to 12.1.

Even if you decide to do a clean install some of the information will be very useful to you. In addition, the HowTo is a good example of how to use the documentation provided with each new Slackware version. This could help you in future upgrades.
