after 10.1 install, security update?
I suppose that after a fresh install of slackware 10.1 I will need to update certain packages for security reasons. Will it be sufficient to download and install the patches listed in http://slackware.it/en/pb/ ? Or should I go through the whole list in http://www.slackware.com/security/ (it's quite long, where to start...) ?
Any how-to's for keeping the slack secure? |
You need to upgrade the packages on patches/, take a look here: http://mirror.switch.ch/ftp/mirror/s...ches/packages/

thanks gbonvehi, these seem to be the same as in "slackware.it/en/pb". (question: what does ".asc" mean?). So I can ignore the 'security' stuff?
Is the list of patches frequently updated? Should I check this list daily, weekly or monthly or so? |
