2.6.18 modules - fresh current

hi

I rsynced slackware-current this morning. burned out to dvd, and installed slackware. on boot i chose test26s, and after the install i also chose to install it as the default system kernel. it's ok till now, but the modules belong to 2.6.18 are NOT installed. there are the modules only for 2.4.33.3.

where should i report this?

thx

The modules, headers, and source are in /testing/packages/linux-2.6.18

i know where is it on the cd.
but shouldnt these be automatically installed with the system (just like the "failsafe" 2.4.33.3)?
why should i install it manually after reboot, when slackware complains about missing directory (/lib/modules/2.6.18) ?

I'm not sure why they aren't automatically installed, maybe someone else can answer that question. Regardless, everyone has to install those packages to boot their system if they select a kernel from /testing

Yes, as test26.s was just included for testing, Pat probably assumed people doing tests would read the RELEASE_NOTES where he wrote that modules need to be manually installed.

If I choose to use one of the non-testing kernels, such as huge26.s, will the modules be installed?
