NOOK HD+SlackwareARM+Wine+EHM2007

Hello all,

Just registered and already demanding answers. So can it be done? I'm waiting for NookHD tablet and just wondering the possibility to 1. install SlackwareARM on it and then 2. install Wine and spend some time 3. playing Eastside Hockey Manager 2007 through Wine with my new toy.

Or is there already an easier way to do this directly from Android?

Last I checked on the Wine wiki, there's been no update to running Wine on Android... as far as SlackwareARM: well you could be a pioneer, but in either case I'd bet that a Windows game written for intel cpu and pc graphics adapters will never run on a Nook without full emulation, ie unusably slow. In fact, I'd try VirtualBox in Android if you're trying to do this.

There's some kind of breakthrough with wine on ARM on Open Pandora boards:

That was an interesting link about wine on ARM. I'm desperately wanting to put linux on my Nook HD+.

I specifically chose/picked it out because of the possibility.
First we have complete/working kernel source.

Second TI has a development board based on the OMAP4 (which is the cpu the nook uses), the pandaboard.

It should be "easy" to cross this over to our device.

What I would like is to get eglfs working through Qt and wayland, I guess through libhybris.

More specifically, something like this:
http://forum.odroid.com/viewtopic.php?f=62&t=2898

(which is very similar to our device and uses the same sgx544 graphics drivers.)

I know it's possible- it's just a difficult project.
