Well tried midori but as stated in another post webkitgtk failed to build. I tried installing Ponce's webkitgtk, but then ran into problem with Midori. It seems the version from Slackbuilds is no longer available and the build script failed when I tried modifying it for the latest version. I did install Dillo successfully and it works. I will say it is extremely fast compared to Firefox, but leaves a little to be desired. I'll keep looking at other options.

Installed netsurf fro Slackbuilds.org. I t built and installed ok but fails to start. Trying to start from command line I get "Illegal instruction". Not sure what is happening unless it needs a dependency(s) not listed.

I successfully built and netsurf-gtk from a slackbuild on my x86 32bit desktop and it runs fine. I was likewise not successful using the slackbuild on a pi.

What really interested me was building the netsurf with the framebuffer front end which would provide a point and click browser without running an x session. Perfect for something like the pi. That would be a compile from scratch project first time around working through the compile and installation of dependencies along the way.

I'm up to my armpits with a wireless pi weather station project which takes up my free time. Maybe I'll re-visit nesturf when I'm finished with that as you have piqued my interest.

Further to my last post netsurf-3.1 was released this past April. You might want to have a go compiling yourself. Be sure to download netsurf-all-3.1.tar.gz. This source includes all the dependencies required that were developed by netsurf's developers. In the past these had to be compiled separately but it may be that they are now compiled via the makefile in the source's root directory or at least it appears to be the case for a compile I have running on a pi right now. There may still be other dependencies that may crop up but I have no idea at this moment and I'm out the door to do a couple jobs.

Guilty here too! I realised one of my Raspberry Pi's was months behind with updates and discovered the GPG error when using slackpkg this morning. I solved it by doing the following as root user:

The strange thing now is, when I use the 'slackpkg help' command, it tells me this:

The same version mismatch exists in x86 too -- it might be to do with the merging of patches for slackpkg.
