I am currently compiling a new 4.7.4 kernel with gpio sysfs and a realtech wireless module. I'm using distcc on a bananapro client and distcc with x-toolchain on a 64bit slackware-14.2 box with a 6 core processor.
So I have used -j8 in my make command
Code:
make -j8 CC=distcc bzImage modules
How should the compiling be shared out? I thought that there would be more than 4 jobs on the workstation but there very rarely is.
Code:
8432 Blocked [0]
8437 Blocked [0]
8391 Preprocess ring_buffer_benchmark.c 192.168.1.2[2]
8374 Preprocess async_pq.c 192.168.1.2[4]
8401 Compile vmaster.c 192.168.1.2[5]
8420 Preprocess uid16.c 192.168.1.2[6]
7896 Compile clk.c localhost[1]
Also would it better/quicker to not list localhost so that all work goes to 192.168.1.2 and would things be any quicker if I also listed my other banana pro which is also up on the lan?
