Can anybody reason preferring rpcbind-0.2.3 + patches over rpcbind-0.2.4

I'm having a go again on squeezing all that I need into the onboard flash of a GoFlexNet. In the effort to minimize footprint I'll be linking against uclibc and using busybox.

While looking for the sources of the various components it struck me that there is a new rpcbind version 0.2.4 that seems to have in the changelog most of the patches that are applied to 0.2.3 for creating the slackware package.

Does anyone know the reasons for preferring to patch up 0.2.3 ?

These are the changes that seem to address some of the patches that are applied to 0.2.3: (all but the tcp_wrapper patch)

This would be better in the main Slackware forum since it's not ARM related.

Ok I'll mark it as solved and create an equal one on the parent subforum.
