Zipslack installation

The zipslack FAQ says that zipslack distribution can be run on FAT32 file system.
Let's say that i want to install it on my D:\ drive. When the installation is completed, and i login in linux, would i be abel to access my files on D:\ drive, the files that were there before i instlled zipslack.

Zipslack doesn't do anything except add a linux folder with about 100 megs of stuff in it.

Re: Zipslack installation

Oh yes. You can access the other files, they are in /DOS
However, you can only access them through their short file names, so it' s a little bit tricky.

The best way to use zipslack is to install it in a separate fat32-partition of about 150 MByte. It is not difficult to make as many fat32-partitions as you want in the extended partition.

You mount the other fat32 partitions as you need them (mount -t vfat).
Zipslack consists of over 10 000 files. It is not a good idea, to have many other files in the same partition as well because of stability.

Good luck!

Georg
