ZIPSALCK: cannot login for d 1st time
i got zipslack, unzipped it into my directory. now i tried to boot using the bootdisk. the partition where i unzipped the files is in my primary slave composed of a single partition(i guess it should be hdb1). but /dev/hdb3 is what i type on the lilo(boot floppy)...probably because of bad sectors(?). and when i get to linux and i try to login for the first time as root i get an error message:
*** login: root /bin/login: error while loading shared libraries: libcrypt.so.1:Cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory UMSDOS: out of sync, deleting dev/initctl *** it goes on and on, even when i ctrl+alt+del i downloaded the split zipslack, and my guess is that my d-load was wrong. but b4 i dload again with my *fast* internet connection, please help me out. thanks |
It sounds like you have a corrupted Zipslack file. I'd suggest getting
another download and try the install again. I started out with Zipslack 7.0 and had no problem getting it installed and running it the first time, using a VFAT file system, without any partitioning! |
Yes, it appears to be a corrupted zip file. I got a new one from my friend and it worked fine. Thanks.
