xwmconfig doesn't detect gnome
Hello, I installed slackware 10.2 yesterday with no problems, as usual I decided to use xfce as the default window manager. Today I decided to install Freerock Gnome using this method:
lynx --source | sh
(freerock gnome current I think)
And at the end of the process it said that everything was OK.
The problem is that when I try to set gnome as the default window manager using xwmconfig, it doesn't show gnome (xfce4, wmaker, etc, etc are depicted).
Do you think I woul try to configure it manually ??, maybe it happens because Pat left gnome from the current slackware version...
Thanks in advance

Did you make sure the configuration files are set up in /etc/X11 ?

well , I think you mean /etc/X11/xinit
I've got this in that directory:

Is that ok?

Those are the startup files for X window managers. If xinit.gnome is not listed, it seems that the installation was not performed correctly.

Did you set the installation directories when you compiled the gnome?

in your home directory you can manually edit .xinitrc and put the line "exec gnome-session". When you do startx you should be good to go.

Yeah, you are right, it's pretty suspicious that xwmconfig issue , I 'm going to reinstall all the stuff , maybe one archive was corrupt or something like that, anyway I love slackware and Gnome so if there is no other way to enjoy both.......let's do it now!!!

Thanks anyway.
