xfce4: doesn't save terminal settings

i used to have wmii but i thought i try the fancy xfce4. chaged the terminal command in the control panel and in the drop down menu (right click on desktop) to "xterm -fn -*-terminus-medium-*-*-*-14-*-*-*-*-*-*-* -bc -cr WhiteSmoke -bg grey 10 -fg grey". after restart next day the terminal started from the drop down menu was correct the one from the control panel wasn't. but it didn't lose the complete command strangely. i had terminus font but white bg and black fg?! i changed it again but to no avail.

btw.: i had a similar problem once where newly added apps in the control panel didn't stay there over reboot. odd, isn't it? anybody know of this behaviour? where does xfce store it's settings. there's nothing apropriate in my ~ nor did i found something after grep'ing through my /. a quick pointer would be nice .

These settings are in ~/.config/xfce4 AFAIK, panel settings in ~/.config/xfce4/panel.

I have sometimes problems with two xfce4 goodies losing their settings (places- and mount-plugin), but did not encounter problems with starters I added or modified so far.
