i just installed slackware 12.1 so this is a fresh install. i had a problem making my resolution higher so i installed ati's prop drivers which fixed that issue. but now im getting the above error msg. anyone have any ideas as to where to go from here or how to fix?

thanks in advance!

The error is just above the lines you've posted. Check /var/log/Xorg.0.log for lines starting with (EE) to see what the actual problem is.
