xfce compile why so big ? (50 MB)

I compiled xfce 4.2.2 under Slackware 10.1 , everything is very good
but i see xfce-4.2.0 package 9 MB but my xfce-4.2.2 is 50 MB
yes, a new version ! but not all from that,
the binarys are very big , as you will see in that file

xfce4-menueditor ---> 72492 bytes on 4.2.0 but 1532974 bytes.

can any one tell me why is that big difference ? and how can i compact it.

Thanks
