XFCE ACPI handling.

Hi all,
I know I have posted LOTS of question in the last few days of being on here, but hopefully they will provide answers for other Slack newbies.

Ok, so this time I have a couple of questions related to the guidelines on the following webpage:-
http://wiki.xfce.org/tips#handle_acp...logout_options

Looking at solution 1, I am wondering if:-

0) My power button will work when X/XFCE is not running.
1) If so, how would this be affected if something were to happen to the xfce4 shutdown scripts.

Thank you for the help so far. This forum has been of much use. Great stuff!

Regards,
Jack Hunt

My experience was that
1. xfce power manager runs stuff when X is running
2. acpid runs it anytime

So if I hibernated from X, I got 2 consecutive hibernates. So I neutered xfce power manager. The instructions on that page appear to be for acpid, and yes, that functionality is there from a console or runlevel 3.
