xf86config-4 problems

I have just installed the FireGl drivers for my Radeon 9000 vid card. I ran "fglrxconfig" to setup XF86Config-4 and now I am getting a fatal server error on 'startx'.

I have posted below the output of the log file it generates and the actual xf86config-4 file.

What is causing this "no screens found" error? I have had this error in my first few installations of slackware and now i finally got it setup nicely, this happens!!!
Argh.

Please help....

and the actual xf86config-4 file is:

Code:
# File: XF86Config-4
# File generated by fglrxconfig (C) ATI Research, a substitute for xf86config.

# Any number of ServerLayout sections may be present. Each describes
# the way multiple screens are organised. A specific ServerLayout
# section may be specified from the X server command line with the
# "-layout" option. In the absence of this, the first section is used.
# When now ServerLayout section is present, the first Screen section
# is used alone.

Section "ServerLayout"

# The Identifier line must be present
    Identifier "Server Layout"

# Each Screen line specifies a Screen section name, and optionally
# the relative position of other screens. The four names after
# primary screen name are the screens to the top, bottom, left and right
# of the primary screen.

    Screen "Screen0"

# Each InputDevice line specifies an InputDevice section name and
# optionally some options to specify the way the device is to be
# used. Those options include "CorePointer", "CoreKeyboard" and
# "SendCoreEvents".

    InputDevice "Mouse1" "CorePointer"
    InputDevice "Keyboard1" "CoreKeyboard"

EndSection

Code:
Section "Device"
    Identifier "Standard VGA"
    VendorName "Unknown"
    BoardName "Unknown"
I don't believe your video card is installed right. Make sure you are using the right drivers. Did you try one from the default list?

I fixed it. I chaged the PCI bus ID to what it was looking for 1:0:0 rather than 1:0:1 and added some resolutions to the list of screens.

Problem is, it can't modprobe fglrx or modprobe agpgart. i get errors!!!

did you make sure that you changed the name of the XF86Config-4 file to XF86Config? Slackware doesn't read the one labeled XF86Config-4. As far as modprobing the drivers, it's been my experience, at least with NV cards, that modprobing without X running won't work.

Go there, get the driver source for your card, compile the kernel module, X11 modules and userspace tools. I did this for an unsupported Radeon 8500 and managed to get it going quite nicely.

his log file shows that it is using -4 file.
==============================
XFree.4.x will try the -4 one if it is there, and if it is not there,it will go for XF86Config file
