xf86 questions in slackware 13.37

I used to run slack 12.1 and whenever i had to configure X ,i would run xorgconfig i think.

In the Xorg man pages i got and ran Xorg -config and Xorg -configure but i really got nothing out of those , nothing like the previous options-choices in the earlier versions of slackware.

I looked up X11/xorg.conf.vesa and all i see for driver is vesa framebuffer.

I know i am missing something here but i cannot figure it out.

My card is a radeon 9200....with lcd monitor ,i am getting all of 60FPS in glxgears , glx is loaded in xorg.conf file and direct rendering is working in glxinfo.......thank you.

Xorg no longer needs an xorg.conf file to run, and autodetects nearly all settings these days.

According to your last sentence, everything is as it should be. What makes you think you need to change something?

Thanks for the quick reply Adamk75.....When i start glxgears i am getting only 60 frames per second compared to 1700 + with the previous installation (slack 12.1)

I thought something was wrong!

That's nothing wrong. That's just the driver sync'ing the the OpenGL framerate to your vertical refresh.
