xconfig in 10.0


What should I do if when I startx my screen goes black.

I was thinking of editing xorg.conf but im not sure to what.

So all the resolutions will definetly work on my monitor I have it maxed at 1024x768....I was thinking it could be something else, any ideas?

is there an error output from the xserver?

are you upgrading from an older x version? just rename XF86Config to xorg.conf

Or you may need to cp xorg.conf-vesa to xorg.conf
