X Window problem: windows are displayed incorrectly.
Greetings, most honoured community
I have next problem, but cannot remember what I have altered in configurations to cause it:
When opening any window in X (does not matter what it is: KDE,XFCE,fluxbox), this window always displayed without title bar(and so without close/minimize/etc buttons, and so cannot be moved by mouse). It does not matters which application I run and which widget-set it uses: konsole, dolphin, kopete, Opera(uses xlib directly) - there is no title bar at all. Can somebody whisper me, what configuration I should change(revert, reset) in order to cause title bar appear again?
System: Slackware 13.1 32bit, most of security patches are installed(except of last one or two).
sounds like compiz. did you install compiz-fusion? if so, open the compiz-config settings manager, and enable window decoration, move windows, and resize windows. that should do the trick. if you never installed compiz-fusion, then i cant really offer any other help.
trademark91, thanks for answer.
You almost right. Some time ago I tried to build and install compiz, using instructions from SBo with help of sbopkg. But I cannot remember I have not altered any compiz's configuration files, and I have not found any GUI configuration frontend. So I have uninstalled it. I have tried to reinstall it again, but did not found any configuration UI or file.
trademark91, thanks for answer again. I have already fixed my problem. I have retested my system and found this wasn't compiz problem(not only because compiz wasn't installed). Probably I have altered one of my configuration files in home directory which somehow altered xfce's behaviour(kde's too but with less consequences). So I copied .xinitrc and other files hidden from other users home and now all work properly.
