X default keyboard + mouse shortcuts: where?
 

I need to find the config file for Xorg's default keyboard + mouse shortcuts. My main goal is to disable any combination that uses the keyboard + any mouse button. I've already disabled all of fluxbox's default keyboard shortcuts. However, I know Xorg is dictating its own. Why? Because when I'm playing games full screen, all of a sudden I end up moving the whole window.

Ok, someone said that X does not dictate any keyboard or mouse shortcuts. So I need to find out how to disable 2 specific shortcuts in fluxbox:

move window: alt+left mouse
resize window: alt+right mouse

a quick google for fluxbox keyboard sortcut exposes
$HOME/.fluxbox/keys
as the config file for these sorts of things....
start there, let us know if you need more.

Thanks for your reply. However, I decided to leave fluxbox behind. I installed XFCE but my dilemma still persists. It seems that none of the window managers have a way of disabling mouse bindings. There is good news though. The next version of XFCE will allow for those mouse bindings to be disabled or changed. The XFCE included with Slackware 11 is version 4.2. The next version of XFCE will be 4.4. I could download XFCE 4.4 rc2 but Slackware 11 being so stable, I'm going to wait for the final release. Shouldn't be long!

Also, at the XFCE FAQ, there is an entry that deals with the mouse bindings I'm talking about. However, after implementing that tip, the mouse bindings were still there. I'm hopine XFCE 4.4 will allow me to globally disable alt+mouse bindings.

I went back and did a little more digging around. And it paid off!

Just for kicks, I ran a 'locate xfwm4' command and lots of things scrolled by. The last line was: /usr/share/xfwm4/defaults. So I 'cd' into /usr/share/xfwm4 and checked defaults and there it was. The easy_clicks setting was globally set to true and XFCE kept ignoring my ~/.xfce/xfwm4rc. Changed the setting to false and now the alt+ mouse bindings are gone. Gone Baby, Yeah!
