I know the mirrorservice.org has nothing to do with slackware but it's the mirror I always use and it's funny that

http://www.mirrorservice.org/sites/ftp.slackware.com/ works fine
http://www.mirrorservice.org/sites/f...kware.com/pub/ works fine
http://www.mirrorservice.org/sites/f...pub/slackware/ doesn't work - That's where I usually take my packages from

It's not a mirror it's just linking you to a real mirror and hiding that from you.

They probably can't handle the symlinks on the ftp server any more and that is probably the reason they don't work anymore.

That's from a cached slackware.com website (some old entry):

Thanks. Actually, when I think of it now, it makes sense.

Sh*t man, I'm sad now. I don't have a lot of disposable income... or any income at the moment, actually, but I'll sell something on eBay and send a few bucks to Pat V. Please don't let Slack die.

Yeah I'm having a panic attack right now. Just say what's needed and set a goal so we can achieve it.

It's not about how much each of us can contribute. If all slackers in the world donated even $1 each, Pat will be able to buy out Microsoft

I think I'm going to donate on the store website as well. It'd probably be impractical to set up any other one-off donation method. It'd be really nice if all the slackers who can afford donating any money did it and then Pat shared what server (or holiday package) he bought. LOL

Only problem with the donation is that it's through Paypal, which is even more evil incarnate that M$.

I've been thinking of buying more shirts and such for a while, though, so this is a good excuse--gotta wait until I get paid on Wednesday, though.

Are we sure this is really a money issue and not a "site lapse while admin is away" type problem?

Can anyone confirm they have first hand knowledge from PV that this is a $ issue?
