I don't recall who originally posted this info but I felt it was worth a re-post. This is an archive of slackware.com: http://web.archive.org/web/201107160...slackware.com/
The reason I post this is not to stir up anything, but as a n00b in terms of Slacking (only installed once...on a vm) I was having difficulties finding the .torrent files on any of the mirrors so I can do a REAL install. Hope the archived site helps others, cheers! SLACK LIVES ON...except their site! (only a joke, don't flame me!)
The problem isn't solved, and this thread shouldn't be closed. When I can't find a current discussion about WHY the Slackware site is down, that's when I'm going to throw in the towel.
Jumping around,I see a lot of discussions about the nature of Slackware, the dominance of Ubuntu, yadda yadda yadda. It's off the point, as far as I can see. The website being down is the problem, it's a fairly simple problem, and not solving it for so long looks really really bad. You can get mad at me for saying so, if you like. But I have to warn you, that also looks really really bad.
There's nothing more to say about this. Thanks for the the wayback link, it was very helpful.

If there is a problem at all with Slackware, it's not ours to solve, my friend. None of us here own, control, or pay-to-use Slackware Linux. A few here have close ties to the project, but ultimate control over what may or may not be a problem falls to one man... Pat V. Until he decides to provide an explanation for whatever may or may not be ailing Slackware, nothing definitive will be known by any of us.
