Come on, SquidnGuns. While the criticism Caitlyn got for her premature conclusions and subsequent defensiveness were certainly justified, the immaturely worded only-a-personal-attack comment you posted wasn't. I recommend either editing that into something you'd be proud of when you reread it next year, or deleting it altogether.
EDIT: The comment is gone. Whoever deleted it (you or their moderator) made a good decision.
My fingers occasionally work faster than my brain. There's no shame in amending a comment... if it needs amending. Too bad the rest of the shit we do in life isn't as easily edited.
Yay X has been upgraded, mind you I've been running the latest for while now.
Some FYI though
pixman 0.25.2 is beta (0.24.4 is the latest release version)
Yep, it's -current. Not really a good enough reason on its own though - I don't know why I did that, but I do remember having what seemed like a good reason at the time...

The drm stuff in git has an API change coming through that you may want to get when the next lot of releases come out for libdrm and friends.
I'm not seeing this in the git repo, unless they have coded commit messages and/or I'm just being dense...

If anyone asks cairo 1.12.0 is buggy as all hell (I have yet to test cairo 1.12.2)
1.12.2 seemed fine here, and then it worked for Pat, and then Eric, and I've yet to see a negative report about it (which is of course not to imply that such report does not exist), so let's hope for the best

And xfce should be recompiled against the new xcb
Yeah, but it's going to get upgraded soonish, so no point in wasting time on it right now.

Also the libX11 is a beta version if you drop libXi back to 1.5 you can keep the current stable version or wait and upgrade when they do a proper release
Again, I had a reason for going with the pre-release; if my memory is correct, one of the components needed for new multi-touch support required the pre-release libX11. Since it's -current, and Xorg is close to a release, and Slackware is not, I think we'd do better to get some testing of the Xorg that will ship in our next release, even if it's not officially "stable" marked by upstream yet.

re: cairo
Is there any chance that cairo will be built with --enable-xcb any time soon?
I'm in China.
I can't access the slackware.com again
This is simply ridiculous. How long is the site being down, two months ?
Is it so difficult to organize a (DNS redicrected) page with appropriate information,
so that thosands of devoted slackers didn't feel like they're some unimportant cattle
ignored by developpers ? A hardware problem that needs two months to fix it, hm ...
something like 9/11 happened I guess.
