Come on, SquidnGuns. While the criticism Caitlyn got for her premature conclusions and subsequent defensiveness were certainly justified, the immaturely worded only-a-personal-attack comment you posted wasn't. I recommend either editing that into something you'd be proud of when you reread it next year, or deleting it altogether.
EDIT: The comment is gone. Whoever deleted it (you or their moderator) made a good decision.
My fingers occasionally work faster than my brain. There's no shame in amending a comment... if it needs amending. Too bad the rest of the shit we do in life isn't as easily edited.

Yep, it's -current. Not really a good enough reason on its own though - I don't know why I did that, but I do remember having what seemed like a good reason at the time...

Again, I had a reason for going with the pre-release; if my memory is correct, one of the components needed for new multi-touch support required the pre-release libX11. Since it's -current, and Xorg is close to a release, and Slackware is not, I think we'd do better to get some testing of the Xorg that will ship in our next release, even if it's not officially "stable" marked by upstream yet.

Is there any chance that cairo will be built with --enable-xcb any time soon?

This is simply ridiculous. How long is the site being down, two months ?
Is it so difficult to organize a (DNS redicrected) page with appropriate information,
so that thosands of devoted slackers didn't feel like they're some unimportant cattle
ignored by developpers ? A hardware problem that needs two months to fix it, hm ...
something like 9/11 happened I guess.
