Did you run 'xorgsetup' first?

Did you enable hotplug?

Can you post
Code:
lspci
lsmod
/etc/X11/xorg.conf
Did you read my post on dri? (Link in my sig)

Is this a laptop by any chance? My brother had the same thing with Debian on a laptop with a recent intel chipset. It may be that it isn't supported in your version of X or that the driver you are using is old (we never got that fixed properly ).

i810 was the correct driver, because it worked perfectly in Ubuntu - so my theory boiled down to being one of three things:
- an old kernel (sarge uses 2.4)
- an old driver
- an old version of X

The first I think is unlikely but the others are possible.

2.4 works fine , as does the xorg in 10.2. All that is needed for the i810 is to run 'xorgsetup'

That's why I'm waiting on a response from the OP

Sorry you wait, It was my first use of: (lspci > file_lspci.txt) command, but I like it.

There is what you want:
http://files.aldin.cz/lspci_file.txt
http://files.aldin.cz/lsmod_file.txt
http://files.aldin.cz/xorg.conf.txt
I setup xorg.conf as you tell in your DRI manual.

How I install kernel 2.6.16.20:
by installing 3 packages: kernel-generic, kernel-modules and alsa-driver

I thing hotplug is enabled. While it boots I see Starting hotplug it wait little and my mouse light on.

OK. Try (as root or 'su' to root)
Code:
xorgsetup
Sometimes this works much better than 'xorgconfig'

Try that, and let us know

Do you have the module selected in your kernel config?

I don't know. Where can I find it?

How I install kernel 2.6.16.20:
by installing 3 packages: kernel-generic, kernel-modules and alsa-driver - that is all what I do with kernel.

I must recompile my kernel?
How can I do it? - As easy as possible it is.
