Hello Everybody,
I just installed slackware linux and i have problem with my wireless after some searching i understood that the solution of my problem was to install wicd network manager but with slackware is a bit difficult for me as it does not have a good package manager or if it has one i am not sure.
Can you tell me instructions on how to install it.From sites to commands.
I really like slackware but i have a problem installing tarballs , generally from the start that i had ubuntu...
Thanks everyone in advance!
well thank you wicd is installed.
Now i have the following problems:
slackpkg command , terminal says it is wrong
and
wicd does not open when i click on it.
When i write slackpkg install <program> it just says: Command slackpkg not found.
Wicd does not open either.
When i write wicd-client in the terminal i get this:
/usr/bin/wicd-gtk: line 12: /usr/bin/python: No such file or directory
/usr/bin/wicd-gtk: line 12: exec: /usr/bin/python: cannot execute: No such file or directory
Well,
I fixed slackpkg.I installed the package from slackpkg.org.
Wicd still does not work any ideas how to fix it?
I tried installing python but no luck.
Anyway i just fixed it.
I did a clean install and i installed all packages even KDE
but i chose XFCE as my default DE.I dont load modules of KDE or GNOME so
i dont loose more RAM and i dont care for my hard disk's space because i have enough.
Any way thank you mrclisdue.
