So far, no problem at all.
I've just used skype and it actually worked pretty well.
I asked that because on vista, it seems that DELL provides a tool to set the orientation of the camera ... but not 100% sure.
Cheers,
W: Failed to open configuration file
...
W: CVideoDeviceInput: Warning: no channel info available.
...
W: Cannot query audio capabilities of video device.
...
In fact nothing special, but it shows ablack screen and it's getting freeze when I try to change the size to 640x480 for example. It also display that at same time:
Code:
D: Waiting for capture thread to stop...
It works with skype and qutecom, I do not really need the other ones, I'm just frustrated and I would like to understand, that's all.
Where do you get those errors, on the command line? Please post the commands too when you give the console output. If Skype can use the camera then it's obviously working well. So these software are perhaps misconfigured. Are you sure they are trying to access the correct device? I don't know if it could be that the image format provided by the driver is not supported by these applications (I don't know too much about this subject, maybe I'm saying something totally stupid here).
Also, xawtv probably uses the V4L1 (Video for Linux 1) interface which is now deprecated by V4L2. There is a compatibility option in the kernel but the generic kernel probably has it enabled. Just make sure that your kernel has it.
I think you're right xawtv uses the V4L1.
About camstream I don't know, probably too since in vlc the cameraworks only with the "video for linux 2" capture mode.
So everything is fine.
Thank you so much for your help!
