The DWL-610 is a Realtek-based card. I don't remember the site myself, but there are drivers. Do a search, i.e., "Linux Realtek driver"

"Linux Realtek Driver" will almost certainly come up with a whole bunch of RTL-8139 links. What you want is the RTL-8180L chipset.

Go here: http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/...series=2002121

If you are just starting out the best advice I can give you is to learn to choose your hardware very carefully.

Orincco, Lucent WavLan, many Prism2 chipsets (and on later Kernels Atmel and Prsim54) plug and play.

If you have the option I would try to return the card and get one that has good linux support.

The other option is using NDISwrapper which allows you to use the windows drivers in linux

Here is a step by step

Realtek 8180 w/ NDISwrapper

Which leads to the second piece of advice. You are often not the first person to have a problem. This site has an excellent search engine
that will help you find the answer. Try it with Realtek RTL8180
