wine usage problems
 

Right. I installed wine from .tgz package @ linuxpackages.org and configured it with the config tool. However when i try to run something I get following error:

err:module:load_builtin_dll failed to load .so lib for builtin L"x11drv.dll": libXxf86dga.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Could not load graphics driver 'x11drv'
err:module:LdrInitializeThunk Main exe initialization for L"C:\\Windows\\System\\notepad.exe" failed, status c0000142

Help would be much appreciated.

I had trouble setting up wine. What I recommend is going back to linuxpackages.net and getting winesetuptk. Install that and run it. It made setting everything up a lot easier for me.

I had this problem. The required library is available in the xfree86-4.4.0-i486-2.tgz.
i.e. You need to upgrade to xfree86 4.4.0 to be able to run the latest WINE release.
