Wine rearranges icons on KDE desktop

Running a wine app rearranges the icons on my KDE desktop apparently at random. "Locking" the icons in place has no effect. How do I stop this from happening, besides the obvious "don't run wine apps"?

I am having this issue too. I am using kde 4.10.2 an slackware 14 multlib. But I thought it was a nvdia driver problem, so I installed 304.88 in an old system ( Asus A8V-MX, AMD_64_3800Mhz and nvidia 6800XT. In my case there is a resolution change ( 1280x1024 for 680x480 ) and consequently icon problem.

I don't wish to speak ill of WINE but I've had this type of issue too.
I have to say I love what the WINE project does but I hate having WINE installed because of the crap it puts all over the place.
I did something like this:

Your blamming point a lot of wine-extension desktop. After deleting it do you have correct wine app function, icons and desktop?

After deleting the .desktop files I got rid of the stupid "open with Windows notepad" and "open with Windows Paint" menu options that were set as default by WINE, yes. I can also run WINE applications as I could before. The only things it removes are the stupid menu items to open everything with a WINE program.
I haven't come across anything as moronic as WINE taking over the defaults in Linux before -- it really is a horrible reminder of how Windows functions. I cannot state enough how pathetic and ridiculous WINE installs are.
