Wine Install and Multlib Required Programms

Good evening, slackers!

I am intending to run wine on my Slack_14_64 bits system and it's a multlib architecture now.

Then if I used Slackbuilds to install wine, it is construted in a 32bit compatibility like informed in Slackbuilds tips. But it requires other programms, for instance: webcore-fonts, wxpython, cabextract, maybe... Playonlinux!

Then these another programms must be 64 or 32 bits if I wish an easy 32bits compactibility ? Will Slackbuilds construct these programms in 32 bits on this system too?

Eric does so much work for us ....

According to the dep file you only need OpenAL and it looks like you only need it if you need openal32.dll to work

Hi vivanguarda,

I have 64bit wxPython and 64bit cabextract and they seem fine. The webcore-fonts should be no arch.

I've yet to find a program that needs wxPython though.

Solved

That's all. Thanks a lot!

I am having problems to run games, but now is possible to know it isn't an wine required programms on multlib system issue, so I installed mount another Slack 32bits system and the problem is the same.

Your best bet when having problems running programs in wine is to take a good look at the console output and also refer to the apps database at winehq: http://appdb.winehq.org/
