Originally posted by AlfaGTV I have downloaded Wine-20020710.tar.gz.tar, untarred it and I did ./tools/wineinstall like it says in the readme file. But I get the error ->
What am I doing wrong?
(I'm running slackware 9)
There is a Wine.tgz you can install with pkgtools (installpkg wine[version]. I installed on my Slackware 9.0 setup and Wine worked fine. I still had issues getting games to work, but the Wine install was flawless as far as I could tell. The slack-packed wine should be availible from linuxpackages.net. I'm all for installing from source usually, but with the complexity (for me!) of Wine I was happy to let the .tgz take care of it.
