Windows XP / Slackware LILO boot problem.

I just installed Slackware 10 on my 2nd HD (hdb3) and setup LILO to install on the root. Windows XP was already installed on my first HD (hda1) and was booting fine. After installation I booted up; loaded right into Windows; changed my BIOS boot sequence to boot HDD-1 first; restarted and got the LILO boot menu. For this first time I booted into Windows; and that loaded just fine. Restarted again and this time booted into Linux. Things were looking good. I restarted a third time to jump back to Windows; however after selecting Windows on the LILO menu all I get is "Loading Windows..." and nothing happens. I can change my BIOS to boot HDD-0 to get to Windows fine and Linux works fine if I boot with HDD-1.

Does anyone have an suggestions on why my Windows won't boot from LILO? My lilo.conf appears to be correct, for the windows boot section. Is there other options I may need to change for hda1 for it to boot from LILO all the time.

Thanks,

Sorry I can't help with your specific problem... but you might try using Microsoft's own boot loader. Your install can stay as it is. All you need to do is boot into windows and make a couple of changes and voila! no more messing in your bios.

You can do it very easily with this windows utility.

Have you tried installing LILO to the MBR of hd-0?

And please post your lilo.conf so somebody can look at it to make sure nothing's wonky.
